LankaSpecialChild (LSC) is a website dedicated to educating the general public about children and adults who are mentally handicapped in Sri Lanka.  LSC’s goal is also to recognize the dedicated work of the Sister’s of Charity and the staff who look after the children at the several organizations.  In addition during the third year of its existence LSC hopes that the readers will be encouraged to donate their skills, resources and assistance to the services run by the Sisters of Charity.  We hope that we are a little closer to the day when the child or adult who is mentally challenged will be treated as an equal and enjoy being an active and accepted member of the Sri Lankan society. 

The website is administered and funded by parents and family members whose children and siblings are mentally challenged and who attend either Daya Mina, Supem Uyana or Caritas.  LSC is not directly affiliated to the Sisters of Charity

of Sri Lanka or the Sudaya trust and is non-denominational.
